The Boyz.  Having trained at the lancing academy in Gridania in her youth. Continuing her work in the field in Ishgard's Dragoon ranks, she's attended and completed her training, achieving knighthood. Answering the conscription call for assistance in the efforts during the Dragonsong War. Previous fellow dragoon unit members, mentors, superiors, mess hall mates, etc.

Walking Fast, Faces Pass.  Having traveled between Othard, Gridania and Ishgard, there's a variety of ways this wayward daughter may have run into your chara, let's see how! Cousin? Childhood friend? Met at a ball? Toxic ex? Let's have a chat about it!

House of Dal.  This family rose to title based on the family's ability to provide sage advice to ruling councils. Rewarded for their wisdom and loyalty to free and fair trade- their knowledge is often consulted in ruling affairs. Not to only be focused in politics, House Dal also owns and operates a notorious upscale ryokan with natural onsen. The business of relaxation is booming and lips are loosened in the gently bubbling waters. Client? Staff? Business with the ryokan? Distant relations?

Fellow Viera.  Raiko has...a very complicated relationship with her kind. Having grown up not knowing/able to learn anything meaningful about her origins- She takes two stances: Before her most recent dragoon mission (while she's in Hingan/Gridana/Ishgard) where she is more optimist about learning. And the time present (returning to Ishgard after much delay) in which she is a touch more hesitant. While desperately wanting to know more- it conflicts directly with the identity she has always known.

Yoruhana.  Just outside of Kugane, through the green paths, wooden slatted glass materializes as the trees part. Almost creeping up as you arrive at the gate to Yoruhana, a ryokan and onsen of particular notoriety. It is rumored this was the place criminal minds and politicians meet. Prized for discretion and the unsepoken promise of privacy, its seemingly secluded locale would lend to its local legend. They say only fools would attempt to take from the Yoruhana. These walls eat secrets and drink the lives of those who would run.

House Dal.  The family that runs the resort is the esteemed Dal. For as long as the name remained a bittersweet taste on Hingan lips, they have dedicated their bloodline to the prosperity of the inn. Staff, guests needed tending in a consistent manner. It had taken at last three generations much effort to ease themselves from the shadows that haunt their history. Striving to keep their faces in the light, law-abiding loyal citizens, House Dal simmers in the growing chaos as they have garnered the ire of ancient ties. Having once been one of the old families that owned this land, they've bartered for their freedom out of the bloodbonds through offering utter and complete neutrality. Discretion and patience.

Local Involvement.  Yoruhana is watered by the blood of the disloyal, her gardener the House of the Moon. Called the Hall of Whispers by those not wishing to draw attention to their sharing rumors in the streets. The speak on the house as a living beast. Docile, charming, quaint, traditional - the establishment and family smile upon the public but would suffer no foolishness. House Dal are consulted by lawmakers and the powerful in all affairs, steeped deep in their long ties. They are invited to political rendezvous by all sides. Governing bodies, unlawful, they live up to their neutrality firmly. They know too much to be tested. At least until now. The acting heir, he was only partially blood. And his mother even less. The thinnest red of House Dal- by their standards, ties him to that position of power. The appointed absent Heir was a complete disconnect. The elders would have tradition at the cost of the present, at worst- the future. It is in tradition that they maintain their power.

Ascension Race.  She is too hot-headed, brash, unpredictable. He is too soft, merciful. Neither of these Dal were fit to lead such a prominent house. At least the elders staunchly set in their mindviews would see it that way. Ruhwy appears to be the best option- if only she could be controlled. Ruhwy could be and should be married off, reined in. She would give another family immortality- or close to it. They knew of the Vieran life-expectancy and how it could keep them in power for much longer than these Hyuran lives. Ryuhan was calculating, clinical and loyal to his sister. They would prefer to puppet the lad if only they could pry his affection away from Ruhwy. She had been away so many years and yet he was still stubbornly attached to his last memories of her. He too might produce a long-living heir but possibly not as his sister would.

Old Debts.  Blood for blood. The way in and the way out. They have married their children to the more powerful groups in days past- before their accumulation of power could offer any leverage. House Dal had Illy, the elder matriarch had brazen broken tradition by wedding out of love? spite? for the lack of her own choosing. A debt had been created and it was bestowed upon her only surviving child, Ryuwon. She too had ended up choosing her partner from the wild. Now, the focus is on the Heir Apparent, Ruhwy to pay for their peace.
